What are Kips?
Kips are Silicone disks that are used in Doll joints just like sueding. Most doll companies sell Kips but I find them to be very expensive! Essentially all a Kip is is a washer. A Silicone washer. So I set out to see about making my own! And as luck would have it I found what I needed right away! PupaParadise sells sheets of silicone for $3.00usd. And they even have a little tutorial about how to make BJD Kips.

How to make a kip by pupa paradise!
The Silicone Sheet comes with a layer of protection on both sides. So that it doesn't grip anything that it shouldnt
Measure the joint you want the kip to go in using either the punch set or your stencil
Then Punch or Cut it out! Use the hole punch to make a center hole. Remember to peel of the protective outer plastic!
Test it out by placing it over the Joint hole. They should be the same size.
I used a dab of hot glue at the top edges to hold it in place. But Vuala! You Are Done! now just reassemble your dollie!
